If there is one thing that annoys me most, it's CLICK HERE link. I came across a small but interesting article at Sun, terms to avoid, that covers the topic.

Generally, if the words or phrases are specific to Web use, then they are probably words to avoid. A good test of web-term overuse is to print the page out, read it, and ask yourself if it makes as much sense on paper as it does on screen.

No more referrals from MSN. The almost one week long ride is over. Since most geeks love statistics, I'll give it to you. There were 10468 visitors coming from MSN in the last 6-7 days. Wow!

Back to normal, or maybe not? Whatever came from Sarajevo is considered welcome. I think I know who is the culprit :-)

[08:04 pm]

I would like to thank to those who greeted me. Now I feel much better :-)

I've received many questions and emails in the past few days.
Here is one of them:
Perhaps you have too much time on your hands.
I suggest a girlfriend for balance.

If you've written and haven't heard back, it doesn't mean I don't care, OK? I do care and I'll try to answer as much as my work load (and my wife) permits. Here are some answers to the frequently asked questions (never thought I will need that, heh):

What is this site about?
Whoever spent more then 5 minutes here, will know the answer (I hope). This site contains a weblog, mostly related to web design and development, and to some extend, bits and pieces of my life. sashaDesign.com is also a portfolio, biography, and photo gallery (run by a wannabe photographer), and . . . that's about it. Oh, yes, don't forget to play around with the skins on the top of the page. That's what most people like here.

How did this site show up on MSN?
Don't ask me! That is a mistery to me too :-)

Your site is at MSN today's link. How do you feel about it?
I am honoured and anxious at the same time.

Can you design/develop a website for me.
Yes, that's how I earn my daily bread. If I am too busy, I call my friends who can jump in at any time, and who know how to create websites as good/bad as myself.

I have no idea for how long, but the fact is, there are tons of people coming here from MSN at the moment. Instead of me talking boring stuff all the time, let's ask YOU something. Hope my database can handle it.

Where are you from?
How old are you?
What is your sex?
Anything else I should have asked you?

Standards on the web are really not an exciting topic, particularly not to the client. How can I sell standards to my client/boss/co-workers?
Something I always wanted to know, but never dared to ask.

And, you know what is my problem? I cannot build a site without the HTML validator anymore. Sometimes I wish I could.

Just when we thought it died, Netscape Communicator 4.8 is out. We shouldn't be spreading the word. I didn't bother downloading and installing it. Maybe you? (Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Here is the photo I wanted to scan yesterday, just before I found out that my scanner was blessed by the gods. How do you like my new hair style?

My scanner fools me?
[11:59 pm]

Something strange and unexplainable happened to us today. I wanted to scan a picture today, usual stuff. My scanner (Canon N650U) stores the last picture scanned. Now when I opened the scanning program this picture appeared. I am totally puzzled! My family and I don't have this picture and don't know about it. We never saw this place before.
Now I have two logical explanations:
1. somebody entered the house and scanned the picture
2. I was hacked

The other explanations? God presented Himself in a digital form?

I cannot believe that somebody came to us without our knowledge and scanned the picture.
I am not sure that something like this is possible to hack.

Any help?

We enjoyed our weekend at Lafontaine Camping. I have never spent a night outside of Toronto, since I came to Canada, 3.5 years ago. This was the first time! When living in Canada, it is a great experience to have a direct contact with nature from time to time. Luckily, bears are not present in the area. We only saw raccoons around our tent, creatures totally unknown to an average European. They are really cute and it is too bad we didn't take pictures of them. The best part of our trip was sitting around the fire pit and drinking beer!

I just descovered Saila's Special Character Converter. Worth bookmarking.
Adrian Roselli's Simple Character Entity Chart covers the same topic and worth mentioning too.

Check out the XHTML 2.0 Working Draft

This document is the first public working draft of this specification. It should in no way be considered stable, and should not be referenced for any purposes whatsoever. This version does not include the implementations of XHTML 2.0 in either DTD or XML Schema form. Those will be included in subsequent versions, once the contents of this language stabilizes.

Looks like some interesting news are coming:

We found an interesting, privately owned, Amphibious Assault Vehicle on a beach yesterday. It was built about 50 years ago, but it is still in a good shape. I asked the owner for the price and he said, it was priceless. Not that I wanted to buy it. I guess, this type of vehicle was used during the Normandy Invasion.
