Let's add some Halloween atmosphere here!
For some reason, Halloween seems to be a bit different this year. Just a few homes are as decorated as previous years. Terrorism, wars, snipers, . . . Have we all been frightened too much already? No more fun to be scared?
I personally don't feel like putting my Scary Ghost Mask again. I would rather be Peter Pan this year.

You are a geek if (found in my inbox today):
The only jokes you receive are through e-mail
You are always late to meetings
You can type 70 words a minute but can't read your own handwriting
You forgot to get a haircut for 6 months
You have Dilbert comics taped to your wall
You see a good design and still have to change it
Your laptop costs more than your car
Your friends haven't the foggiest idea what you do at work
You've already calculated how much money you make per second
You have more friends on the Internet than in real life
You think that when people around you yawn, it's because they didn't get enough sleep

Babble section has now multiple pages, with 20 topics each. There is one stupid thing that was bothering me though. There are to ways to go through different Babble pages (links don't work, this is just an example):
Which one is more logical?

We represent all who are sick of receiving unwanted AOL cds. By sending us your unwanted AOL, Netscape, or CompuServe cds, you can help us make a statement. Once we have 1,000,000 collected, we will make our quest across America to give them all back to their rightful owner, AOL and say "stop doing this".

After almost 10 years, I'll most likely get back the apartment in Sarajevo, in which I was living with my brother and my parents for more then two decades. I was born in it! Things are getting better over there, definitely.

i used to believe is a collection of ideas that adults thought were true when they were children.
I used to believe something that is impossible to translate in English.
"Ide Tito preko Romanije i on vodi svoje divlje svinje".

Wired News has a different appearance, but the new design isn't just about look and feel. The site now complies with standards recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium for greater access to all users.

TableEditor is a remote database administration tool written in pure ASP. It is supposed to be something like phpMyAdmin for MSAccess. I haven't tested it yet, but I will need it soon, that is for sure. I'll leave the link here, in case somebody needs it, now or in the near future.
BTW, I was coding in ASP this week a lot. It's been a long time.

Death Of A Meta TagObviously, if you personally find it or believe it to be useful, keep doing so. But I suspect it's just a waste of time, for most people.

I have never received this kind of spam. Time to disable Messenger Service. For some reason Penis Enlarger ads find me everywhere. Hm?!

I've been offered a job related trip to US. Actually, this trip would be the first in a series of maybe 10-15. The project seems to be very interesting and challenging, but . . . I decided not to go for it. My fear of flying is stronger than my desire for knowledge. At least for now. Maybe I would manage one flight or two, but 10-15 would be too much for me to deal with. I am chicken. I admit.
A couple of days ago I read that even eating is more dangerous than flying, something to think about next time they serve you a meal in a plane.

By the way, I love this flash applet. To let Flash read PGN (Portable Game Notation) files has always been something I wanted to do, but never figured out how.

Human vs. Computer
From October 14th until 19th, World Chess Champion, Vladimir Kramnik, will represent mankind in a struggle to cope with Deep Fritz, one of the world's most powerful chess AIs. The eight game match will be played in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. Even those who don't understand chess may find this match interesting.
