Free Bobby
[12:29 am]

Appeal to drop charges against Mr. Robert James Fischer and set him free from detention in Japan. We urge Mr. George W. Bush, the President of the United States of America, and the United States Government, to pardon Mr. Robert James Fischer of any charges for having violated sanctions against the former state of Yugoslavia, by playing a chess match there with Boris Spassky in 1992.

Positioning Web Elements in the Background Using CSS
[09:53 pm]

A sample chapter from Eric's book, "More Eric Meyer on CSS" Since opacity styles aren't part of CSS, it's been generally thought that such effects are effectively impossible. But there is a way to get a smooth translucency effect in Explorer for Windows, and Eric Meyer shows you how in this article.

Home Zoo
[12:29 pm]

We had it coming. For now, there are "only" two eggs in the nest, but it is likely that we will have more soon. Pictures will be made avialable, as soon as we get parents' permission. It is a new experience for us and for parents, and we have no idea if something will come out of these little eggs.

And that's not all. We also babysit Yo-yo, while my brother is on vacation. Yo-yo is a good puppy girl, really fascinated with our birds. We still need to figure out if she wants to play with them, or wants them for breakfast.

Would you use it?
[09:43 am]

A public toilet in Switzerland that's made entirely out of one-way glass. No one can see you in there, but when you are inside, it looks like you're sitting in a clear glass box. Would you use it?

Don't use Internet Explorer
[09:37 am]

U.S. Steers Consumers Away From IE The Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team touched off a storm this week when it recommended for security reasons using browsers other than Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer Is Just Too RiskyUntil Microsoft proves it can fix IE's security bugs, you're better off using one of a few good alternatives as much as possible.

Internet Explorer Is Too Dangerous to Keep UsingThe bottom line is that for all practical purposes for today, open-source browsers are inherently more secure than Internet Explorer.

Canada Day and Greek Party
[01:02 pm]

Toronto Skyline Yesterday was Canada Day, Canada's 137th birthday. We enjoyed a very nice day and took a trip on the ferry to the Toronto Island. From the island one can have a breathtaking view to the skyline of Toronto. A perfect place to take pictures!

Party didn't stop there. After Greece beat the Czech Republic 1-0 in extra time at the Euro 2004 tournament, red colour turned blue and everything looked rather like Greek Day. We live very close to the Greek Village area in Toronto and could see soccer fans flood the Danforth yesterday.

I am happy for them, but I guess, you all know who I am cheering for on Sunday.
