Raccoon baby
[08:08 pm]

Raccoons. Most homeowners don't like these nocturnal mammals. They can cause damage, such as dumping trash cans, damaging newly laid lawns, or injuring pets. On the other hand, I like them, maybe because I am not a homeowner.

Raccoon BabyLast Saturday, this little raccoon baby got lost in my brother's backyard. Igor took this picture while the baby was trying to climb down the tree. The mother was waiting at the bottom of the tree and was trying to help as much as she could. This climbing was successful, but on the next day, a very sad accident happened to one of her babies. We don't know, but it could have possibly been this one. The story is so sad that I hesitated to post this picture, but than I thought, why not pay a tribute to this little animal and give it a little place in the cyberspace.

Rest in peace, may one day all your raccoon baby sisters and brothers become skilled garbage can thieves.

A Different Kind of Art
[10:50 am]

I had a good laugh when I read the reason why my professor prefers teaching computer science.

Birgit Hansen, studying Design and Fine Art at the University of Ulster in Belfast, performed Mother Land Father Tongue as part of her final year exams. "I was using the body in a way that I have never done before," she said, "and I have generally received a positive response about it. I was reading from the text of a French philosopher and then vomiting at different points. It is about life . . . I think you have to go to these extremes." sked by Sunday Life, a Northern Ireland tabloid, how she was able to vomit on demand, she replied: "It happened more easily than I expected. People thought it was amazing."

waferbaby lo-fi wiki, not sure how long it'll last, but it is an interesting idea for "under construction" pages.
