BBC: Japan 'set to free' Bobby Fischer Japan has decided to allow former world chess champion Bobby Fischer to travel to Iceland, despite US requests for his extradition, Japanese media say.

ChessBase: Fischer to be released at midnight Bobby Fischer is due to be released from the Japanese detention center a few hours from now. Specifically at midnight GMT.
