EU considers tossing out cookies.

The cookie, a simplistic identification tag that most Internet users unknowingly carry when surfing the Web, runs the risk of being outlawed under a proposed privacy directive from the European Commission.

Odd how politicians attempt to regulate something that is not localized in their country. Honestly, what right do they have? Do they realize how simple it is to circumvent such proposed measures? What kind of impact such legislation would have on e-commerce? The big 3 browsers already have the option to disable cookies, so why do we need cookies banned?

<sigh>

P.S. thanks for not giving me a cookie here.
