Lately » Java, C++, C, or what?
I wonder what programming language is being used to create applications we use daily, such as Photoshop, Flash, Word, browsers . . . I googled a couple of minutes, but wasn't able to find anything. Is it Java, C++ or something else? Is that information available to the public at all, or is it kept secret?

This is a guess, but I reckon it's C. You'd imagine something incredibly high-powered, but then again the mac finder was written in pascal...

FYI I asked the same question here:

Versions 4 and below of Photoshop were written in an IDE called MacApp which I *think* uses some oddball Mac-only variant of C. I am reasonably sure that modern versions on all platforms are in C, mixed with assembly for speed.
P.S. The System 7 Finder was written entirely in Pascal. 7.5.x through 8.x contain bits and pieces of old legacy Pascal code, but 9 dropped them in favor of the quasi-simplified toolbox known as Carbon. OS X is in objective C (Cocoa), I believe.
System 7 -- woo hoo!
