We are asked to use the validator to check our code in order to support standard on the web. And I do so all the time. But it seems to me that it is sometimes too picky. For example:
- If I use border="0" frameborder="no" framespacing="0" in my frameset tag I get an error telling me that those attributes don't exist. I don't know any alternative. How am I going to get rid of the border then?
- If we use '&' character as a separator between CGI arguments we get an error. Why??? I saw that on Zeldman's page as well.
- table height="100%"is not standard although any browser will handle that. 'We shouldn't use height attribute because it could cause problems if the user specifies the font size in his browser.' Fine, but if I use "100%"does it really matter?
Web Standard is a great thing, but should we really go crazy with validator's 'no errors' and the small gif that says 'Valid HTML 4.01!'?

Hi sasha,
to get validation using the framespacing attribute you need to use a custom DTD.
Go to http://www.onemillionpound.net/Tools/Li...k_001.html
To define the height of table use a CSS file
