Not unless he applies for and receives a patent for it. He can say it is a copyrighted technology (such as it is), but that still won't afford him much protection should someone decide to use the same two words on their web site.

People spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about copyrights and patents and what-not. I contend that unless the copyrighted or patented work actually pays for the lights to stay on, it's not worth the effort.

For Adobe, "tabbed palettes" help keep the lights on.
