There are three pictures at istockphoto.com taken by myself. 1, 2, 3
istockphoto.com is really becoming a great resource for a cheap price.
AltaVista looks different, don't you think?
New logo, new layout, ads free homepage.

I gave you 5 but I would put McGarbage overthere! That is a pisture for 10!
These pictures of garbage are raw truth about our civilization and why we will be swept out soon.

The new Alta Vista looks like crap. They should fire their web designer, pronto. Non-validating code, and ugly as cheap home-made sin to boot. OK, the new logo is nice, but still doesn't grab me or anything. WebStandards.org has a writeup on a valid redesign already undertaken by one of their crew: http://webstandards.org/buzz/archive/20...ml#a000109

Sadly enough, I am so used to this Bob. Even Google doesn't validate. That is sad.

Sasha will you put McGarbage overthere?
:: zoka, at 06:55 pm on Tuesday, 12. November 2002
It won't work:

"There are no visible Trademarked products, corporate identity, logos, or copyrighted elements . . ."
But, I'll probably send it to http://www.adbusters.org

saw both mentioned on zeldman.com. funny how zeldman likes to point out non-validaing markup at some sites (alta vista) but not others (the 'affiliated' istockphoto).

Finally, I posted something before him :o)
Well spotted db!
For some reason, I don't blame big companies for their bad code. I probably should, but we all know what is the reality. The boss, manager, CEO, . . . wants the damn thing up in a day or so, and wants it to look exactly the same in NN4 as in IE6. And don't use that CSS thing anymore, it screws up Dreamweaver! I found myself so many times defending web standards in much smaller companies then Yahoo or Altavista. Without success. Almost each time I sounded stupid. Web Standards? What the hell is he talking about?
I cannot go back. I use Validator daily. I validate my code as religiously as a nun attends mass, but if I am working in a group where absolutely nobody cares about it, what should I do? Keep pushing that rock like Sisyphus?
