My monitor died again, second time in three years. You must be lucky with the hardware you get nowadays. To my best knowledge, the monitor is still under warranty. Calling KDS will be the first thing tomorrow morning. I would have bought a new monitor today, but it is Sunday evening and everything is closed already. My old 15" friend is getting a proper dust cleanup already.

Maybe it's time for an LCD?
They look uber cool, I might get one. Problem is they're not too good for games (except 16ms ones) and they cost $$$. :o(

Yes, I was thinking about that, but their price is too high at the moment. I'll wait until their price goes down.
I am looking for a nice 21" monitor, but then again, they are not cheap either.

I have 21" Hitachi monitor, and the more I think about it, the more I don't like it.. it's just too big. HUGE.
I hope to get 17" LCD soon.

Davor, I saw LaCie Electron 19 Blue IV, and it looks really good, but I wanted a larger one, and they cost more compared with the one I bought.
Koja, why don't you like bigger monitors? I like more working space.
So, yes, let's see for how long will this baby last.

1600X1200 Dell 21"
:: Davor, at 09:50 am on Tuesday, 27. May 2003
That small on 22"? You should've gotten married earlier, you're already blind.. hehe
I used 1600x1200 but went to 1400x1050, makes it little easier to read.
:: vitez-koja, at 10:51 am on Tuesday, 27. May 2003
Actually I tried 1600x1200 and it doesn't look that bad. I'll probably switch between the two depending on how much working space I need.

I usualy set the resolution to the maximum available, if the refresh rate is over 85Hz. Anything below 85 is just a torture for my eyes. Can't spend more than 15 minutes in my university computer lab because of the crappy monitors there (I love it when the SGI lab is open). I actualy did not enjoy “The Matrix: Reloaded” in the movie theater all the way because the whole f***ing screen just flickered so much.
Right now I have a 19" noname monitor on my home machine, because my old 19" Nokia just decided not to show anything exept a black screen if you don't smak it on the side and my hand kinda starts to hurt. I already noticed that the luminosity of the screen is not the same in all the corners. It's lighter on the right. The bottom corners are a little blurry, the color temperature shifts sometimes unexpectedly and I miss my extreme black and white points. This monitor sucks, but at least it can do 1280x1024@85Hz :)
I'm looking forward to buy this baby: http://www.iiyama.com/web2002/product/36p_514.htm as soon as I win the lottery so I can push it to 2048x1536... I don't care if the icons and fonts are too small... that is what I have glasses for :)
:: FlatLine, at 05:37 pm on Tuesday, 27. May 2003
Forgot... the three year warranty period expired just a few weeks ago for the Nokia.
p.s. Please insert these two into the previous writeup, they seem to have fallen down during typing: c c
:)
