Lately » Kefir

I discovered a new passion - Kefir! For those who have no idea what it is, take a look at Dom's Kefir in-site, which might look cheesy from the web designer's point of view, but it is the best information about Kefir on Internet, and it is funny too. At the moment, I drink Liberty certified organic kefir, which tastes soooo good, but is not so easy on the wallet ($2.69 CAD), particularly if you drink it daily, like me. So I thought that it would be a good idea to grow my own Kefir grains. As it looks like, it is difficult to find quality and real Kefir grains on the market, but smart people solved the problem and developed the Kefir community site with a database of users willing to share their grains. Lets see if I am lucky and can get hold of them.

In Russia I have a chance to drink realy good Kefir. Earlier there was Kefir here in Bosnia but now it is so rare to find Kefir in the shop.

Wow, this post takes me back. I was buying AltaDena brand Kefir fifteen years ago, and I got sick of paying so much for it too. I was culturing my own in the oven, nothing to it really. Good stuff, and it does your health some serious good too.

I would like to try making Kefir. I love it, it loves my stomach, but alas, not my pocketbook. Thanks for your help. Gwen

I was buying kefir from the South Cyprus. I like it. This is the original Turkish drinking but still you can't find it in Turkey or in North Cyprus easily.

HELLO! Look kefir up on google and you'll find willing suppliers FREE. Kefir is easier to make than yoghurt; put grains in milk, put in cupboard for 12 to 48 hrs. Very cheap, very easy, very healthy. Check our Dom's site, its worthwhile!! Kefir grains can be posted and survive up to a week (maybe longer) without special treatment!
