i have two cockatiels one boy and one girl
they are in separate cages but the cages are next to eachother and my female bird has layed one egg with out a breading box. and that was about a week ago. how many eggs do cockatiels have at a time and how long between each egg?

My cockateil has laid 2 eggs and it seems to be going in an order, every other day. And my neice brought her cockateil over and they where in the same cage, and this was approximtly 1 week ago. Are these eggs dud's or are they real baby eggs? Sunny(the 'mother') has been very protective about the eggs and wont let anybody close to them. She also lays on them. Does this mean they aren't duds?

Why does my cockatail keep biting me? Iknow he trusts me b/c he eats little grains of bird food and bread out of my hand. So why does he still bite me?

My cockatiel has layed over a dozen eggs in the last few months. We have removed any material that would assist her making her nest. This did not help!
She also has very runny poop. Can anyone help?

hello i wonder if any one could help i adoppted both my cockateils barny and fred, yes and fred is a girl we wasent sure if she was a boy or a girl intil she layed a egg we took her egg to the vet and thats when we found out that fred was a girl but her egg was not fertilised recently fred has layed a clutch of 2 eggs these eggs have just been sitting at the bottom of the cage for about a week i dont no what to do with them she has moved them around the bottom of the cage and sat on them for about 2 minute peirods any one got any tips? thanxs lianne

Hey eggs take 18 to 21 days to hatch. If they are sitting on them leave them alone.Sometimes they dont sit on them til there are two or more egges

hey umm well cockateils if there is only a female in a cage and she lays eggs then they are duds its like when women get their periods they have eggs but they are not fertilised so that means there is no baby growing

I thought my cockateil was a male until today. he, now a she laid an egg. I have no other bird so I am assumin the egg is unfertil. She doesnt seem to pay attention to the egg and let me pick it up. It also has a small amount of blood on it. Is that bad? I am worried about her. She is my baby and my first pet I ever had for myself. She is about 3 years old now. I have a cockatiel male and female. They mate and the female lays eggs but she doesn't sit on them at all. Should I take them out and try to incubate them myself or is there another reason that she doesn't sit on them. She currently has three eggs.

my cockatiels have bred twice now and the first time the eggs hatch after 20 days they have just laid eggs again but this time i put a camera in the box to keep an eye on them have found that the mail moves the eggs around the breeding box they both take turns sitting on them i wouldnt recomend anyone moving the box once they have laid eggs they will some times regect the eggs wvbrat32

Please help me,
My little girl (Mia), a little over a year old has been laying unfertile eggs since July 17th. We have 6 eggs now as of last night. I get them away from her as fast as I can so she does not become attached. However, she is the most loveable bird..loves kisses..has the run of the house. Until she started this HITLER attitude. She starts attacking my feet and spreads her feathers and actually chases me away from her and the egg. My husband thinks I am nuts and she does not do it to him. As I am writting this she is on my shoulder wanting me to rub my nose on her head. I have to know when this egg laying stops. I thought it did until...last night!

hi my cockatiel has laid a total of 46 eggs since March of 06....She usually has 4 or 5 eggs, she lays on them, but then after about 5 weeks she knows there will be no babies, then she starts all over again, she's a horney little bird.. I make sure she is healthy she eats lots of cuttle bone because I sure wouldn't want her egg bound. She seems fine, but I do miss playing with her, because when she has eggs she's on them always.

please someone e-mail me animegko@aim.com, why my cocketiels both 24 monthsd have mate and layed 3 eggs in counting......first a dud second he bird ignored it and after 3 days cept pecking unti it broke...yolk inside.....3rd last night.... put box with soft materials by egggg she moved the egg away a bit ...every once in a while she will go and check it out or watch it for a few minutes but otherwise she ignores it??????why??????she is still quite plump by her tail she prob. has a few more?????what is happening??????? -george
