There must be something behind these rumours.
Google Picks Gates' Brains Google, $1.67 billion richer from its August initial public offering, is spending its money poaching the brightest minds from arch-rival Microsoft and other tech giants.
Based on the half-dozen hires in recent weeks, Google appears to be planning to launch its own Web browser and other software products to challenge Microsoft.
By the way, in case you didn't know, Google Services page is a nice shortcut to many Google services. That is where I found out about Picasa, a very practical digital photo organizing and sharing software.

Picasa looks good--I'm thinking of downloading and playing with it. I've tried out the Adobe Photoshop Album and it is decent as well, but I haven't used it a lot.
Personally, I've become addicted to http://www.flickr.com as it's not only good for organising photos but also has a good community as well.
My photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lilitu93/ -- though I'm not as great a photographer as you are by any means.
