Pictures taken during our visit to Montmartre. Montmartre and art are inseparable. By the end of the 19th century the area was a mecca for artists, writers, and poets who gathered to sample the bordellos, cabarets, revues and other exotica. From here there are spectacular views of the city.
Au Lapin Agile, literary meetings have been held in this rustic cabaret ("The Agile Rabbit") since 1910.
Sacre-Coeur, this Romano-Byzantine church, started in the 1870s and completed in 1914, has many treasures, such as the figure of Christ by Eugene Benet.
Moulin Rouge, the famous nightclub at the Place Pigalle.
A street artist of Montmartre. This guy is amazing!
